July 12, 2010: Here is the current status of Jimmy Risher's new RV8 as quoted from his recent email to me:
Well, now the secret is out. I revealed "Shelby Lynn" (N811JR) to her namesake and her mom and dad today at the airport. I think they were pleased. It was so fun watching Shelby's face as she figured out that it was her name on the side of the airplane! She readily posed for some pictures. When I put her up on the cowl, she decided she wanted to stay there for a while. Can you tell there's a proud granddaddy around? The pics are, of couse, without the wings mounted. The fuselage painting is complete. I am painting the wings this week, and will be mounting them soon after. Then, it's engine run time! Slowly, it's becoming an airplane!
